Corporate
You might be interested in a particular Books&Balls project which you
identify with and would like to support. Here, Books&Balls acts as a
link between you and your selected project, and is responsible for
monitoring its working through its Development Support Unit. Books&Balls
also continues to provide non-financial inputs to the project, like
training, technical expertise, communication and information support.
You can choose to support an entire project or just a part of it, based
on its area of focus (like education, health, vocational training) - or
its target child-related issue - (eg. the girl child, child laborers,
children of commercial sex-workers, etc.)
For instance Tower Overseas Limited, Ahmedabad has adopted a
Books&Balls -supported project focusing on education and functional
literacy for children and adults. The company has a comprehensive
in-house citizenship programme, which encourages its employees to
contribute, both monetarily and by getting involved with the project.
Some organisations have chosen projects near their plants. Others have
focused on projects in a particular state, which they felt needed
development.
In order to take our corporate partnerships further, we provide you with
a variety of support inputs.
a) For the Adopt-a-Project scheme, we organize visits for your
management and staff members to the projects concerned. This helps build
personal relationships with the supported schools.
b) We make presentations to your board, management and staff on the
project and what your organization’s possible role could be.
c) All corporate partnerships are eligible for 100% tax exemption under
section 35AC or 80GGA, or 50% tax exemption under section 80G, depending
on the project and the exact nature of the funding
